Skylight Cages
Skylights provide many unique benefits, such as style and energy savings, but they needed to be treated with caution when anyone is working on the roof. A worker or employee falling through a skylight poses a legitimate risk of severe injury or death. A typical skylight cannot support the weight of an adult.
To provide rooftop safety, OSHA requires skylight cages be installed along with new skylights. These sturdy physical barriers affix to skylights to prevent the risk of roofing workers falling through the daylighting fixtures. Easily attached to the outside of the skylight, these barriers completely prevent danger without blocking any light from entering the skylight.
Weaver Roofing can install skylight cages as a feature of your new commercial roof or attach them to an already existing roof to keep you OSHA compliant.
